After restoring a Dynamics GP company database, when attempting to log in you may have this error: The selected company is not configured as a company of the current Microsoft Dynamics GP system database. You must resolve the database configuration to log in to the company.
This typically happens when you are restoring a SQL backup from one GP database on top of another GP database. Typical scenarios causing this error are setting up a test company with data from an existing production company, or moving GP databases to another server.
Run these SQL scripts:
select * from DYNAMICS..SY01500
select * from COMPANY..SY00100
Replace ‘COMPANY’ with the database name of the GP company giving the login error.
Most likely the CMPANYID is mismatched in the SY00100 table of the company database, but another possibility is the DBNAME in the SY00100 table needs to be updated if both servers aren’t using DYNAMICS as their system database.
For most scenarios this means that you will edit the CMPANYID in SY00100 of the company database to match to corresponding CMPANYID in SY01500 of the DYNAMICS database. Also realize that the DBNAME in SY00100 of the company database must match the name of the system database (typically DYNAMICS)
